Welcome to my first BBQ

So, I have been in my apt. for 2 years. And for my son's birthday I had my first BBQ. Mike is in FL, but we did get to call him and sing to him as well.
My brother Tony stopped by for a little bit. As did the rest of the family NO, he didn't drink ALL that beer...Even tho the smile on his face says otherwise.
His boys came out to chill for a little bit. And there is my brother Vito, in the back. One of the many Tommy's in the group

So Me and Em wait for Wayne to blow out the candles. Little windy but Kathy had it under control. She is such a pro...And she brought her Macaroni salad YUMMY! What a good job. He got it done in one shot.

He even cut the first slice...

Something to get your minds going.

OK, to many times than we should. We worry about what others think. My favorite personal quote is...what do you care what they think...they don't pay your bills anyway. I have lived most of my life this way. Who are these people that we worry about so much what they think of us? Why do we care so much. So many people don't do things because they are afraid of failing at them. Well, guess what...Sometimes, the only way we can get it right, is to fail at it a few times. By failing, I mean, not being happy with something because we really failed at it. Not because, we just want to be hard on our selves. So, maybe we didn't take that perfect picture, or we didn't color in the lines. But we did it. We need to face the things we fear. This will just make us stronger. So just do it!

Pay If Forward

OK so this is a little different from my last post. IF any of you have not seen the movie Pay It Forward...You really should. It was an awesome movie. I was sitting here thinking wouldn't it be awesome, if people really did take this kids concept and do it. Do one good thing for three people that will help change a their life. And just tell them to pay you back by doing the same for three other people. The world has changed so much and people just don't have time to be nice anymore. I was driving home one afternoon and these kids were playing ball and the ball went into the street. I pulled my car over and gave the kids back the ball. And their mother looked like she was in shock. And all she kept saying to me was, that was really nice of you to do. When did life become so rushed that we don't have time to be polite.

Fishing Trip

So, a group of us got together to go on the fishing boat. We all caught a little something here and there but nothing that we could keep. But the big catch of the day was from Jason. He caught two keepers and won the pool. Go Jason! WE had an awesome time and as much as I hate the rocking of the boat it was fun. If you have never done this you should try at least once!

Two People

We were as close as two people could be.
But then one day you took a path, I just didn’t agree.
Why did this happen?
Why did you take such a dark path?
You were such a joy to be around.
But now when I see you all I do is frown.
I hoped & I prayed that God would show you the way.
He holds his hand out to you.
But your eyes are closed, you can not see.
All you know is what not to be.
I pray each night for God to bring you back to me.
But, I have to face it, it’s not meant to be.

My Bodyguards

These are my sons. Mike is no the left he is 19. Yes, I know he looks much older. My son Wayne is on the right he is 21. I don't know when or how it happened but they some how tower over me. I am very proud of my boys.

The Kids

These are the kids in our family. The only one missing is my younger son Mike. He was in FL when we took this picture...But not to worry, I will post a picture of him next. This picture was taken Xmas 06. I spend most if not all of the holidays with my family. Who could ask for more?

My Family

These are my brothers...Sitting down is my brother Vito and his wife Kathy is to the right of him. My brother Tommy is in the gray shirt, with his wife Patty next to him. My brother Tony is in the Santa hat and his friend Julie is in the jogging suit. I have a wonderful family. My sister-in-law Kathy is awesome. I wouldn't trade her for the world. She has always been there for me. I spend every Monday with her and sometimes Tuesday. It is "our" time.

I Thought of You Today

As the rain falls, I thought of you today.
It reminded me of how you wiped my tears when I cried.

As I watched a leaf fall & get carried by the wind, I thought of you today.
It reminded me of how you carried me through the ruff times.

I saw the sun shine through the clouds & I thought of you today.
It reminded me how you brighten my days.

I saw a mother brush her daughter’s hair from her eyes, and I thought of you today.
It reminded me of when you used to brush my hair from my eyes.

I saw a mother kiss her child’s cut & I thought of you today.
It reminded me of how you used to kiss my pains away.

I thought of you today when my son said, remember when...
And I thought of all the times we would sit and talk and we would say remember when...

I thought of you today and was sad because you are no longer with me.

Maybe I didn’t say it enough, but you have filled my life with so much joy and my heart with so much love.

I thought of you today...and remembered you are always around me.
